The county's independent advocate
The Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce works for a more favourable business climate in Norrbotten. We are the county's independent business organisation and the collective business community's advocate in Norrbotten County. Since we are completely disassociated from central rule or other national supremacy, we can in all situations work for the region's best interests. We are owned, governed and financed by our member companies, which represent firms in all branches and of all sizes.

Our primary task is to make it easier for our member companies to conduct profitable business operations. We do this through:

The Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce is part of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Association and we are affiliated with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) with headquarters in Paris. We also are part of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce network, Eurochambres, in Brussels. ICC has consultative status at the UN and EuroChambres has the same status within the EU. Consequently, we are part of the global business community's proceedings in world organisations.

Community affairs
The Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce actively promotes a favourable business climate in Norrbotten County. We constantly monitor current business issues and work for regional growth. In the public opinion arena we function as a sounding board, and we also arrange seminars, conferences and calls for action to support our business community.
To address the key question of infrastructure, we sit on councils such as Norrbotniabanan, the Norrland Chamber of Commerce's Trafikpolitiska Råd and Flygrådet. We also seek to gain visibility for Norrbotten issues in the EU through the North Sweden European Office. We actively participate in the Regional Growth Programme (RTP) and we campaign day in and day out for a better regional political climate.

Our services
The Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce makes available a range of services and continually carries out projects and activities aimed at developing and supporting our members.
We provide ongoing information on international business issues, which are adapted to suit the member company's line of business and import/export profile. We also offer advice on doing business abroad and issue documents required for import and export. In addition, members receive discounts on certificates and ATA Carnets.
Through our networks we also provide consultative and legal help on import/export, custom questions, translations, contract formulation and public procurement. Regarding public procurement, we can be called upon for expert help in assessing a procurement agency's purchasing routines within LOU (The Act on Public Procurement). We can also represent companies at bid openings.
In addition, our members receive discounts on a series of courses, literature and events.

Through our international projects and undertakings, we often serve as a springboard to the international marketplace. An example of this is Exportutveckling Norrbotten (Exporting Swedish Lapland), a cooperative effort with ALMI and the Partner Point Meetings project. Our association with Swedish bilateral chambers of commerce in more than 30 countries allows us to offer the possibility of business contacts in the most interesting markets. We receive and act as an intermediary for international business enquiries and also host foreign delegations seeking contact with Swedish companies. In short, if you want to set foot in the international market. you'll find no more natural collaborator than your friends at the Chamber of Commerce.
The Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce also works with local networks, and we are a forum where business people can meet one another for social interaction and exchange of knowledge. We're constantly arranging conferences, seminars and other skill-building aimed at improving conditions for our members.
